28“Being a professor of Tambov State Technical University, I was certainly attracted by the ideas voiced in the presentation made by Steve Lever talking about specialization in ELT for the 21st century learner. Critical thinking and academic writing matched very well the context of my everyday work and I am grateful to Tony Prince for sharing his views. I can’t but give my thanks to Dr. Ashley Squires with her insighful description of education by argument. It was a revelation to learn from her that the most fruitful way of proving a hypothesis is to seek arguments that disprove it. It’s really useful to know that the proof of a hypothesis lies in the absence of refuting evidence. This helps to avoid cognitive bias that researchers exercise all too often.”

“On behalf of my colleagues and myself I’d like to thank the organizers of the 3d International Conference on ESP/EAP/EMI in the Context of Higher Education Internationalization for the three wonderful days we spent in MISIS in late November, 2016. The conference was a great chance to meet outstanding methodologists and textbook writers with their inspiring presentations on urgent ELT issues. It was a pleasure to spend that time with colleagues from both Russian and foreign universities sharing our best practices and discussing concernes on differentESP/EAP/EMI issues, on modern trends and changes in tertiary education. Hopefully, the 4th International Conference on ESP/EAP/EMI in the Context of Higher Education Internationalization next year will be the same useful and inspiring!”
